چکیده
This work presents a novel and cost-effective procedure that improves the reactivity of kaolinitic clay particles toward generation millimetric hard-core/zeolitized-shell units. The obtained particulate material is ready to use as ion exchanger beads in fixed adsorption bed. Starting from properly activated, millimeter-sized units, transition their external surface towards new crystalline ordering could be induced. Na 2 CO 3 alkaline activation treatment applied previously calcined allowed obtaining different levels NaAlSiO 4 polymorphs on particles, which are easily transformed zeolitic products. By varying synthesis conditions, FAU LTA zeolite structures were successfully hardened reaching conversions close 90%. starting clay, pretreated clays, products after hydrothermal characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive microanalysis (EDX). versatility method exemplified adsorbents specifically designed for retention Cd 2+ Ni contaminating ions. A total removal was achieved at 150 min initial 40 ppm solutions, being 98% 94% 120 solutions cadmium nickel, respectively. • Millimetric clay. Millimeter-sized adsorbent suitable packed-bed columns. High efficiency achieved.

comparison of influence of walnut shell, clay and powdered activated carbon on settleability of activated sludge
the activated sludge process is the most used biological wastewater treatment method in the world. sludge bulking is one of the most common problems relateing to activated sludge wastewater treatment, and this fact causes poor settling in secondary sedimentation tank. sludge volume index(svi) and the zone settling velocity(zsv) are parameters to quantify the settleability of activated sludge . ...
متن کاملSurface Thermodynamics of Hematite/Yttrium Oxide Core-Shell Colloidal Particles
Spherical and quite monodisperse particles (average diameter 60 ( 7 nm) of hematite (R-Fe2O3) were synthesized and then covered with a shell of yttrium oxide of variable thickness. A surface thermodynamic study was carried out for these core/shell colloidal particles, using two experimental techniques: contact angle measurements of selected liquids on glass slides uniformly covered by the mater...

Clay modified carbon paste electrode (CPE-C) its applicability for electroanalysis of N, N’-ethylene-2,2’-bipyridinium (diquat) has been described in the present work. Electrochemical modification was performed by electronic impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and cyclic voltammetry (CV) in the range of -0.6 V to 1.2 V in 0.1 M K2SO4 (pH 3). The voltammetric method behavior of DQ is suggested where an...
